Last Friday (3/18), was a bit of a tease as it was an exceptionally warm evening for March thus we thought Spring was near in NYC!! To start the weekend off we not only were getting ready to watch the NCAA tourney and cheer ‘Cuse on (tough loss on Sunday) but we were gearing up to open a bottle of WHITE in celebration in hopes of Spring and Friday! We were having company over so I purchased a bottle of Kendall Jackson – Sauvignon Blanc, California 2009 “Vintner’s Reserve”. It’s a fan favorite since the brand is very popular probably due to its classic label, recognizable logo, and it’s 30 years of history. This is my preferred of white wines to refresh and recharge with most likely due to the lime and melon flavors which make it very crisp tasting. The VR is a little more expensive however, is still a cheap way to entertain when pairing this with a great cheese and fruit plate. A few friends that night also discovered it was great with cupcakes as well! So as we all reveal ourselves after hibernation from the harsh winter, try a refreshing white Sauv Blanc to motivate and drive excitement to your first day of Spring gathering!
